Kaiju George Turttle Ecuador

Kaiju (怪獣 kaijū?) is a Japanese word that is generally translated into English as 'monster'. Specifically, this word is used to refer to the gigantic creatures that attack or protect the world or humanity in the tokusatsu genre.

This figure was the mascot of ¨Art Toy Con¨ Ecuador 2024 ¨Kaiju¨ edition.

Inspired by an iconic animal from Ecuador, Lonesome George was the last known individual of the Pinta giant tortoise subspecies. He became a symbol of conservation in the Galapagos. It is estimated he was over 100 years old at the time of his death in 2012, which marked the extinction of his subspecies.

The Kaiju George project is a creative ecosystem for Art Toy Con Ecuador. Centered on a diy platform toy that allows for infinite custom iterations by invited local artists. As an art toy maker, I bridge 3D sculpting and physical production to create this unique action figure.​​​​​​​
